I'm really very tired and there's OCIP meeting + Dance practice tomorrow yay. SL Congress ended today, I have to admit that I really didn't enjoy it that much other than the "Chiku cha chiku cha chiku cha cha cha" dance which is the highlight of the entire thing for me, I think, HAHA. I mean really, mixing Primary School kids with Sec 1,2,3 kids and JC1 kids is not such a great idea. No matter how cute the Primary school students are, it's OBVIOUSLY hard to get them to talk. AND, everyone is split up in different groups. HELLO, IMAGINE A SMALL 10 YEAR OLD BOY (LIKE JORDAN CHUA HAHAHAHA) ALONE IN A GROUP FULL OF PEOPLE OLDER THAN HIM. YOU THINK HE DARE TO TALK??? And there's only so much us as facils can do because first, we're only given 2 days and somehow we have to be able to relate to alllll these people of so many different ages and get them to talk to us. Second, WE ARE ONLY GIVEN 2 DAYS. BY THE TIME THEY START WARMING UP TO EVERYONE, THE CONGRESS IS OVER.
Yesterday was okay actually, I thought it was quite fun cheering and stuff and the dance was the best thing of the whole Congress I swear we did it 3 times yesterday!!! Calvin asked Alistair to help buy back bubble tea for me and Yiguan cuz we were stuck in school the whole day yay thanks!!! :DDDD
Today was quite suck-ish because we had Adrian Lim come down to talk and he's such an obnoxious, condescending prick I could not stand his entire workshop/lecture/sharing shit thing!!!!!! He kept insulting people and then laughing it off and it's like hello??? HOW IS THIS RELEVANT TO LEADERSHIP??? Honestly, it was a waste of my time and only served to MAKE ME ANGRY AND IRRITATED. The next talk was so fucking lor sor it was like an hour and a half and nothing went into my head. I'm sure he had some really valid points that I could have learnt from but I just want to know, what you have learnt and things that I can APPLY to my own leadership journey, not your entire life story thanks.
Wah Job Hunt even better. First Yiguan asked if the participants needed the paper so they could go out find job, apparently we didn't. So we started walking out of the school and we were about halfway across the fricking giant courtyard thing and then I get a call saying we DO need a paper saying where we were from. So we waited. THEN I GET ANOTHER CALL saying the paper cannot be printed so we're supposed to help explain to the potential employers what we were doing but we still need to give out assessment forms to the participants. SO WE WAIT FOR THE ASSESSMENT FORMS but decided to leave first. So we left, and CCHMS is fucking ulu it's a damn long way to walk out k. By the time we reached our venues, OMG OUR VENUES WAH ANOTHER THING. Seriously what kind of weird venues are Bedok Reservoir, or the temple area behind Bugis Street????? YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND A JOB AT BEDOK RESERVOIR? THE PLACE SEEMS DEAD FOR GOODNESS SAKE LIKE GOT NO CUSTOMERS!!! By the time our Group 18 could find jobs they worked for less than an hour then we had to leave and go back already. And how do you want the participants to tell the shopkeepers what they were supposed to do and stuff like that when you didn't brief them on what they were supposed to be doing exactly?? And how were we supposed to explain FOR them when again, YOU DIDN'T TELL US EXACTLY EITHER?!?! Thanks, really. THANKS SO MUCH. BEST ACTIVITY EVER.
Back to school and it was raining like mad after debrief. Cheering didn't stop so me, Gracie, Yiguan and Justina banded together and expressed our mutual hate for the stupid whistle noises and the never ending cheering. It was cute when the Primary school students did it the whole afternoon but really, come on, the day has ended and people are tired. Started raining cats and dogs and we couldn't get through to call a taxi. Luckily, Yiguan's mum came to pick us up and drop us off and Bedok Interchange!! Uncle gave Justina a lift home and now I'm home.
OK SINCE THE SC PEOPLE WILL MOST PROBABLY BE LOOKING FOR BLOGS TO READ ABOUT SLC, I SHALL WRITE OUT STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONGRESS 2009 they sure can find. Because today's debrief wasn't even a proper debrief anyway I couldn't voice everything I wanted to say!!!!
AND I AM DAMN FREAKKKIIIINNNGGGG EXCITED FOR SL CAMP NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!! Starting this Sunday when we stay over in school omg exciting exciting!!!! Even though I don't get to go to Indonesia to replace our cancelled Yunnan trip, I think I'm okay with that cuz... I don't really want to go to Indo -.- AND OCIP ALWAYS makes last minute decisions and leaves me hanging so I made a choice to be a facil for SL Camp and I will STICK TO IT.
Long post with no pictures, hahahaha fuck la my mind is so messed up now I need sleep. I kinda hate the past few days because I keep seeing the worst in people and I can't bring myself to even pretend to be nice and sociable and put on a front anymore. I doubt you really want to keep acting out this show which is getting seriously seriously old, and I cannot stand it because it is so absurdly fake and unreal and I want to slap myself for being so utterly hypocritical. I'm showing my dislike towards you more and more obviously and to more people and although it's more truthful.... I don't think it's the best thing I should be doing. The reason why I feel so possessive over my friends is because I need that constant in my life and I need to know that there will be people there I can count on. You have no idea how much I need that, really. I need new ALLIES harhar.
