I'M BACK I'M BACK I'M BACK I'M BACK AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Omg I survived it! My toes are suffering, my skin is breaking out, but overall it wasn't
that bad.
DAY ONE:
Bus-ed to Punggol Jetty, where we were brought to Pulau Ubin. My watch, SUI SEN! Watch members are Limeng, Rylala, Justin, Zengan, Shiling, Michelle, Iynyi, Xinyi, Meng Lin, Bei Yi, Hongwei, Dewei and Elaine. Our instructor was Ahmad. They managed to split us up so that I wasn't with anyone I'm close to! Luckily, we had buddy watches, like two watches shared the same building. But they're separate dorms, still very close though! And our buddy watch was Barker, which had Louise and Ryan and Ben! Ah, thank goodness. And we saw everyone at mealtimes and stuff. Depending on what time they come in for meals.
We had to go set our own beds because the mattresses were in the cupboard, and the bedsheets were in some other plastic bag. AND THE BEDS WERE GROSS. When I took out my mattress, there were
moving things on it. EWWWWW. And when Limeng and Justin took out one of the mattresses, A LIZARD JUMPED OUT. OMGGGG. We did trust fall, trust dive(where we had to dive onto a mat and try to ring a bell on the other end), and JETTY JUMP! Damn cool! There were jellyfishes everywhere in the water and they looked like the cartoon jellyfishes in Spoogybob! HAHA. So we had to wait for the jellyfishes to go away first before we jumped. Limeng ran back to our room to get his camera! So we could get jumping shots of people. OMG LUCKILY HE BROUGHT HIS CAMERA, WE HAVE SO MANY PICTURES! (Y) We managed to take a shower for the first day, and Justin either walked around the room only in boxers, or he would pull down his pants TO SHOW HIS BOXERS. Wtf. Later at night, Barker and Sui Sen went to the Learning Room where fortunately, it was AIR CONDITIONED! 5 volunteers- Justin, Limeng, Rylala, Ben and Louise had to go up and show this short play thing which was extremely funny. And Justin pulled down his boxers again. In front of the instructors and the other watch. THERE IS A VIDEO. Supper, was green bean soup! Then all of us were kinda restless as it was the first night, and we all only slept at around 2? First we ran over to Washington(Calvin/Justina/Ashley/Xuanzheng), where Edwin, James, Manaswi, Zhihong and I'm not sure who else, were playing cards. Talked to Calvin for awhile, ITS AMAZING HOW MUCH THERE IS TO SAY AFTER ONLY ONE DAY. Haha! Lights out was at 11 so we rushed back to our dorms first because the instructors were going to check on us. Twice, I sneaked out to Barker because Edwin(not Soh) had a phone and I could use it, and Louise was there, and twice the instructor walked past, so we all ran back to our own dorms and you could hear the doors slam. Funny! Oh and Weixiang has cool Brazilian Praias. They're lime green and cool. Even though they're too big for me we still exchanged slippers. HEH HEH. JayJay and Shannon were sent to the Medical Centre. ):
DAY TWO:
Woke up at 5am, cuz we were supposed to assemble in the courtyard for flag raising by 555am. The flagraising is retarded because, we all tuck in our shirts, a whistle is blown, we stare at 3 flags being raised, after it's done, the whistle is blown again and we're done. We had morning exercise, ugghh. Then we changed into our wet stuff when we learnt how to KAYAK! Paired up with Rylala! We had to do rescuing and capsizing drills, then practise capsizing and rescuing or just kayaking around. I got a headache and felt nauseous so it was fun but kinda terrible feeling. After changing to dry clothes, we went back to the learning room with Barker where we had to come up with a plan for the challenge, which was to climb the Inverse Tower, and each obstacle you clear, you get more points. We were supposed to scale the tower in pairs, and we would be linke to our partner while climbing it. Me and Rylala were partners and at first I couldnt bring myself to go up further and he was waiting for me. And when we were just deciding to go down, I managed to pull myself up, then HE couldn't go up, so in the end we gave up. HAHA. We went to bathe and then we had tent pitching! It was supposed to prepare us for the next night when we go on expeditions and camping! It was kinda screwed up though, because everything was last minute and we were packing the backpacks for the next day and stuff. We only started LEARNING to pitch the tents at 1130. Ahmad was really pissed off, and so was I. All the other watches had their tents pitched and stuff. And we were still learning how to pitch the bloody tent. JayJay and Shannon went home. ):
DAY THREE:
We all woke up freezing, and we had to go get ready to kayak around the island. Alot alot of last minute stuff and I must thank Limeng, Justin, Melissa and Taufiq because they were the Sea Expedition Leaders and they really did alot and were all super stressed. Crystal was my partner for kayaking and I have to say sorry to her! Because I got seasick and looking faraway and smelling an orange did not help at all. So she ended up paddling by herself for quite abit and I wasn't helping anything and she got really tired and cried. Taufiq and Justin wanted to help but Ahmad told us to not drag them down and paddle by ourself. At that time we were going towards the island to have lunch already. So me and Crystal pushed ourselves and managed to reach the island. Rylala's kayak was sinking. Haha! After lunch, we switched partners so Melissa was my partner, and Edwin(not Soh) had to ride the sinking kayak and he was annoyed and it was super funny. HAHAHA. And the distance from the island to our campsite was so much shorter than when we kayaked TO the island, and Melissa did most of the work so I was fine. The campsite was actually quite pretty, if you erase all the garbage on the beach. There was UNDERWEAR, a sofa, socks and some other random stuff on the beach. Oh and a stray dog attacked our food so we had no more snacks, like granola bars or Oreos. ): Washington and Tock Seng came, they trekked there and were all really tired. Then we all set up our tents and made them face the sea cuz there was a wonderful breeze! After that, WE STARTED COOKING. Our watch somehow had no mess tins, so we decided to share with Barker. Me and Limeng had a deal where I would cook if he carried my bag for me, SO I COOKED. And everyone said it was the best dinner they ever had in OBS. HAH! :D :D :D We were let off quite early so me, Louise went to find Calvin where he was trying to kill a bug in his tent. "BUG SQUISHIE!" And we got snacks from Justina and Ashley, then we sat by the beach with Yijun, Limeng and Xuanzheng, talking and eating. Until Washington's instructor came at 11 and we all went back to our tents. Stupid E slept and left the whole tent unzipped and our bags were EVERYWHERE. Louise switched tents so she slept with me in the tent! (: We stayed up to talk for abit before sleeping. IT WAS DAMN BLOODY HOT. There was no more breeze! Pfft.
DAY FOUR:
Woke up and packed everything up, we walked over to another spot to be briefed about our Land Expedition. Our watch was kinda screwed because first we didn't have the big map, then we realised we didn't have any compasses either. So we survived with the small map, and a borrowed compass from Ahmad. Barker left already while we were still plotting our points and thinking of our route to plan. We set off with our heavy backpacks, and for some reason we only had 13 backpacks, so the last person who DIDN'T have a backpack(coughEcough), carried one tent bag and two EMPTY jerry cans. All of us took turns to navigate and for the first checkpoint, Ahmad helped us a little. Becuase we actually passed it already and we didn't know. We met Barker at the second checkpoint and found it before them. :D While finding the third and actually optional checkpoint, suddenly we stopped because SOMEONE didn't want to move. And she dropped all her things and I was on the verge of swearing but I couldn't because Ahmad was giving me warning tsks. BLOODY HELL. You're carrying a tent and empty jerry cans. Limeng asked her if she could carry another tent and she went "Do you know it's very heavy?" HELLO WTF, WE ARE ALL CARRYING BACKPACKS RIGHT. Bloody hell. We stopped for lunch then Barker passed us. I was the navigator for the last point back to OBS and it was super embarrassing cuz I went the wrong way and Dewei pointed it out to me. D: Barker followed us and then when we stopped to check the way, they passed us. And when we realised we were going the wrong way, we turned back round and they were still there. Luckily, we reached the last checkpoint in OBS right on time! Because we had to be there by 5pm. Omg we bathed and felt SOOOOO good. My legs weren't tired but I couldn't go on cuz I had 4 blisters. One on the inside of my small toe so it kept rubbing against my fourth toe, and my big toe also has a blister. Both feet same. OMG. D:
Dinner suddenly looked so good, but everyone said it wasn't as good as my cooking. :D :D :D :D We went to the learning room after dinner and had to write our name on a piece of paper and everyone had to write good/bad stuff about you. EVERYONE MENTIONED MY COOKING. Haha! I am cool. :D Then we had to draw on this big piece of mahjong paper about our experience in OBS, and we got our group photos. (:
Ahmad only let us off at 1055 and refused to let us stay up late to partyyy. We were supposed to go to Washington to party but when I walked in, Calvin was sleeping. Then Ahmad came and caught people playing cards. Apparently it was kinda my fault because I took pictures of them playing cards and then Kenny(Barker's instructor) saw the picture. BUT I DIDN'T SHOW THEM TO HIM LUH. Pfft. Walked back to my own dorm when I heard Weixiang calling me from his own dorm, which was in a total different building.

Barker locked their dorm cuz the girls wanted to sleep on the floor of the guys' room. Louise they all went to sleep super early cuz everyone was tired. Talked to Limeng and Justin until all of us fell asleep.
TODAY, DAY FIVE:
Omg damn funny! I woke up to noise and it was already 615! Edwin came to wake us up because we were all late! But it wasn't only us. Marshall, Barker and Munshi too. The only watches on time were Washington and Tock Seng(THERE YIJUN). Skipped out on the run because I told Ahmad I couldn't run cuz of the blisters :D Breakfast, then went to do store checking. We were all hectic, trying to find lost things. Our watch lost a helmet and 7 tent pegs but we only had to pay for the helmet which was bad enough because the helmet cost $52.60. So we all paid around 4bucks each. We wrote letters to ourselves, and it will be sent to us in 4,5 months time and Limeng didn't know his own address so it's going to be sent to ME. Everyone was assembled and we left late because it was raining heavily. RyanSEAH came up with the 5 S's that we are going to do when we reach civilisation. Shower Shit Sleep Study Shop. HAHA! We all screamed when we saw proper roads. HAHA. Reached school and decided to go to Macdonalds for Seaweed Shaker Fries! Went with, Louise Calvin Limeng Justin Yijun Rylala Asyraf Darren Caleb Denie Jolene Charis Lynn Ashley Rachel. BIG GROUP. Limeng forgot to take his camera back so I still have it now. Mummy came and fetched me and gave Joleneney a lift home. I haven't even eaten dinner yet. D:
I have to say that even though for me, the first two days were really crappy and I was being a total whiny asshole and bitching to everyone, I must thank my watch for not going like personal and not being sensitive when I snap or ignore. The expeditions really taught me to think and helped to bond us a whole lot because when we're all tired, we can only depend on ourselves. So, thank you to Limeng, Rylala, Justin, Zengan, Shiling, Michelle, Iynyi, Xinyi, Meng Lin, Bei Yi, Hongwei, and Dewei. Thank you all for doing so much of the work, for encouraging when I was sick and tired, and not being pissy when I navigated wrong. :D
